POSITION TITLE: Personnel & Benefits Coordinator
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school graduate
- Good communication skills
- Ability to operate office machinery such as a Computer, 10-key calculator, copier, fax, and typewriter
- Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Google Suite
- Experience with Software Unlimited, Inc. (SUI) a plus
- Knowledge of health insurance and other employee benefits administration
REPORTS TO: Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
ANTICIPATED HOURS IN DUTY DAYS EXCLUDING LUNCH: 8

ANTICIPATED WORK DAY: Monday – Friday

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Personnel Duties:
- Work with newly hired employees to ensure that the appropriate new hire forms are completed and maintain a current file on each employee. Input all employee information into SUI and other databases.
- Maintain all current personnel files, both electronic and paper.
- Post and update open positions in applicable programs. Maintain job descriptions.
- Prepare personnel agenda for monthly Board of Education meeting.
- Track certified staff observations and evaluations, and non-certified staff evaluations, utilizing both NEE, electronic evaluations and paper evaluations.
- Coordinate all Work Comp issues.
- Initiate & track compliance. Insure buildings are supplied with current required postings.
- Complete employment verifications and other outside requests for personnel information as needed, via telephone or written request.
- Assist the Superintendent, Asst. Superintendent and other Central Office employees as needed.
- Coordination of Aurora keycard system. Creating cards, monitoring status, deactivating cards, and creating special schedules.
- Process volunteer applications.
Benefits Duties:
- Input new hires into Employee Navigator benefits management system.
- Assess qualifying events for insurance changes.
- Organize annual open enrollment for insurance.
- Invoice, collect, and deposit premiums for Retiree health insurance by preauthorized ACH debits.
- Assist any district employee with requests concerning benefit issues.
Accounts Payable Duties:
- Reconcile monthly statements for approximately a dozen local charge account vendors and prepare for payment and approval by the School Board.
- When necessary, enter accounts payable transactions and generate payments using the accounting software.
- Make hotel reservations for district employees.
- Complete online ordering.
- Back up for Business Office Manager. Process all BOE accounts payable reports, print checks, etc. in his/her absence.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Regular and predictable attendance that complies with District policies and rules.
- Demonstration of effective and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students, and the community and the ability to work as a productive and solid member of the school district team.
- Other duties as assigned. This does not preclude the assignment of additional or supplemental duties. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment as needed to reflect such duties.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Duties performed typically in district settings to include the cafeteria, gym, recreational areas and other assigned areas.
- Physical demands can include but are not limited to: Exerts up to 40 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects including equipment such as audio-visual.
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and other limited physical activities are required.
- Mental demands can include but are not limited to: Comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, and synthesizing.
- Frequent movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required.
