Position Title: Teacher - Early Childhood Careers
Qualifications
- Provide verification of a minimum of 6,000 hours of direct occupational experience in industry within the most recent ten years; OR
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a major in the area to be taught AND 4,000 hours of related employment; OR
- Possess an Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution with a major in the area to be taught AND 5,000 hours of related employment
- Valid Missouri vocational certification OR valid Missouri Teaching Certificate in FACS

- Work Schedule: 9 Months/ Monday-Friday
- Hours to Work: 7.25
General Responsibilities:
- Effectively instruct students enrolled in our Early Childhood Careers program.
- Work within approved budget.
- Purchase and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance that complies with District policies and rules.
- Demonstrate effective and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students, and the community.
- Demonstrate the ability to work as a productive member of the school district team, collaborate with peers, possess a positive attitude and be flexible with change.
- Participate in Professional Development training.
Essential Job Duties:
- Instruct students on practical skills needed for a career in childcare, including but not limited to infant/toddler development, classroom management, health and safety, nutrition, appropriate interactions, positive guidance techniques, student engagement, active learning, and basic caregiving techniques.
- Incorporate a variety of teaching methods including lectures, demonstrations, simulations, and hands-on activities in the classroom and lab settings.
- Regularly review and update curriculum to reflect current industry trends and best practices.

Essential Physical and Mental Demands
- Duties performed typically in district settings to include the cafeteria, gym, recreational areas and other assigned areas.
- Physical demands can include but are not limited to: Exerts up to 40 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects including equipment such as audio-visual.
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and other limited physical activities are required.
- Mental demands can include but are not limited to: Comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, and synthesizing.
- Frequent movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required.
