POSITION TITLE: School Psychometrist
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Master’s Degree in Testing and Psychological Evaluation
- Certified in Missouri
- Knowledge, skill and experience in the assigned duty areas
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services
HOURS IN DUTY DAYS EXCLUDING LUNCH: 7 for full time, 4 for part-time

WORK DAY: Monday - Friday

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for supervising the testing and evaluation of all children being considered for placement under PL 94-142. While not doing all of the testing, will supervise what is done by others. Will mainly be responsible for administering the individual intelligence tests. (achievement, rating scales, and their interpretation)
- Collaborate in the staffing involving children who are being placed in one of our special services programs.
- Aid in the Public Awareness Program of Special Services in the district.
- To refer, coordinate, and monitor physical and mental health services.
- Help in conducting the handicap census in the Moberly District each year.
- Work with the regular and special teachers in dealing with special problems that they might have with children who are receiving services under PL 94-142.
- Aide the Director of Special Service in any other assignment pertaining to special services.
- Responsible for program evaluation.
- Facilitate strong communication with Process Coordinator and teams in assessment decisions.
- Maintain inventory of materials, filing of reports, and test records of students.
- Provide interpretation of test results in written reports.
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance that complies with District policies and rules.
- Demonstrate effective and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students, and the community and the ability to work as a productive and solid member of the school district team.
- Must be able to collaborate with peers, possess a positive attitude and be flexible with change.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Duties performed typically in district settings to include the cafeteria, gym, recreational areas and other assigned areas.
- Physical demands can include but are not limited to: Exerts up to 40 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects including equipment such as audio-visual.
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and other limited physical activities are required.
- Mental demands can include but are not limited to: Comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, and synthesizing.
- Frequent movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Supervise the special education process from referral through placement and provision of services, appropriate identification and placement of students with disabilities; and, building compliance with state and federal requirements for special education.
- Assist the director with researching and/or implementing new program components, and attend meetings and training sessions relating to special education as appropriate.
- Monitor and review student files for compliance.
- Facilitate building level staffing.
- Assist current and new staff regarding special education procedures (district and building specific).
- Participate in IEP meetings as LEA as needed and as appropriate.
- Oversee transfer students.
- Serve as a building resource for the special education computer program.
- Assist special and regular education staff in the overall process of identifying students with disabilities.
- Ensure the implementation of the process of special education including but not limited to: Coordinate conference to summarize screening information and develop an evaluation plan, obtain written consent for initial evaluation, notify evaluators to begin assessment, oversee evaluation process, assist with testing, staffing and conferences, give notice of conference and conduct the diagnostic staffing, and obtain written permission for placement.
- Ensure compliance of Special Education paperwork regarding timelines and content.
- Report to the principal and special education director to keep them informed of all referrals, re-evaluations, and special education concerns.
- Assist in the organization and management of Special Education instruction.
- Maintain confidential nature of all school related matters.
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
