POSITION TITLE: Teacher - Agriculture (This position also has a summer stipend, which is detailed after the Job Description.)

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Agricultural Education Degree 
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a major in the area to be taught 
  • Valid driver’s license

 

REPORTS TO:  Director of Moberly Area Technical Center

 

HOURS IN DUTY DAYS EXCLUDING LUNCH:  7.25

(Note:  Actual workdays may vary in accordance with District needs and administrative assignments and may include occasional weekend work.)

 

WORK DAY:  Monday – Friday

CONTRACT DAYS WORKED:  9 months

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Future Farmers of America (FFA)
  • Agriculture Education classes
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance that complies with District policies and rules.
  • Demonstrate effective and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students, and the community and the ability to work as a productive and solid member of the school district team.
  • Must be able to collaborate with peers, possess a positive attitude and be flexible with change
  • Fund raising.

 

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Other duties as assigned.  This does not preclude the assignment of additional or supplemental duties. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment as needed to reflect such duties.  

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Duties performed typically in district settings to include the cafeteria, gym, recreational areas and other assigned areas.
  • Physical demands can include but are not limited to:  Exerts up to 40 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects including equipment such as audio-visual.
  • Frequent walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and other limited physical activities are required.
  • Mental demands can include but are not limited to:  Comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, and synthesizing.
  • Frequent movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required.

JOB TITLE: Agriculture Teacher Stipend

 

REPORTS TO: Director of MATC

 

JOB GOAL: Cover Agriculture/FFA Program activities year round, including summer and evenings

 

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Prepare and conduct Greenhand Ceremonies
  • Prepare for and attend FFA Contests
  • Attend Area/Regional Meetings
  • Host monthly FFA Chapter meetings
  • Attend State FFA Convention annually; attend National FFA Convention every other year
  • Prepare and host events during FFA Week
  • Support students in obtaining State and American Degrees
  • Prepare students for contests and interviews
  • Write news articles and post on social media
  • Attend local service club meetings when invited
  • Host Field Days/Workshops for students
  • Visit students through SAE visits
  • Take pictures during May, June, and July
  • Maintain the Greenhouse throughout May, June, and July.
  • Host recruitment events for students
  • Pick up needed supplies throughout the year
  • Prepare and support students in applying for and attending HYPE Academy/HYMAX Academy for leadership
  • Create summer calendars and submit to Director of MATC
  • Attend MO ACTE/ MVATA summer conference
  • Hold officer meetings to plan for the school year
  • Attend and work at the area county fairs/district fairs
  • Attend the State Fair when students are showing
  • Prepare and host the FFA Banquet
