Qualifications
- High School graduate
- Minimum of three years secretarial or receptionist experience
- Excellent typing and English usage skills
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of business machines, including computers
- Good organizational skills
- Pleasant demeanor and telephone voice
- Good public relation skills

Essential Job Duties:
- Designated Secretary of a Specific Principal, Assistant Principal, or Director
- Type and proof all correspondence, memorandums, reports, and other materials as needed.
- Establish and maintain an efficient filing system.
- Assist with budget preparations.
- Maintain all files of information connected to the efficient operation of the school office.
- Prepare all reports as assigned by Principal.
- Prepare daily bulletins.
- Maintain a log of students coming to school late or leaving early.
- Maintain attendance records and files as instructed.
- Maintain petty cash fund and make reports as required.
- Maintain necessary financial records, process purchase orders, properly receipt all monies received and compile bank deposit slips.
- Answer the telephone.
- Maintain and dispense student medication according to Board first aid policy, contact parents to report student illness at school.
- Coordinate substitutes and file substitute reports as required.
- Record all grades, test scores, and attendance on student cumulative files.
- Arrange conferences with school personnel.
- In the absence of a school nurse, maintain a health card showing each student’s immunization records and each year report to the Central Office student not in compliance with State Law on immunizations.
- Regular and predictable attendance that complies with District policies and rules.
- Demonstration of effective and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students, and the community and the ability to work as a productive and solid member of the school district team.
- Must be able to collaborate with peers, possess a positive attitude and be flexible with change.
Other Job Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned. This does not preclude the assignment of additional or supplemental duties. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment as needed to reflect such duties.
Essential Physical and Mental Demands
- Duties performed typically in district settings to include the cafeteria, gym, recreational areas and other assigned areas.
- Physical demands can include but are not limited to: Exerts up to 40 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects including equipment such as audio-visual.
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and other limited physical activities are required.
- Mental demands can include but are not limited to: Comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, and synthesizing.
- Frequent movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required.
