POSITION TITLE:  Student Services Coordinator

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Appropriate college education

* Appropriate and valid Missouri certification, Counseling Certification preferred

* Basic computer skills

* Valid Missouri driver’s license

 

REPORTS TO:  Director of Moberly Area Technical Center

 

HOURS IN DUTY DAYS EXCLUDING LUNCH:  7.25 hours

(Note:  Actual workdays may vary in accordance with District needs and administrative assignments and may include occasional weekend work.)

 

WORK DAY:  7:10A-2:50P, Monday – Friday

CONTRACT DAYS WORKED:  194 days = 9.5 months

 

FUNDING SOURCE:  District

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

* Coordinate scheduling.

* Assist in developing master schedule.

* Resolve scheduling conflicts.

* Oversee grade reporting.

* Interpreting test results with students/parents/teachers.

* Consult with teachers on student progress/parent concerns

* Develop recruitment materials to inform prospective students about program offerings, admissions, and procedures.  Materials include:  course descriptions, recruiting presentations, program posters, interest surveys, and recruiting notebooks.

* Conduct presentations with 10th grade students from sending schools to introduce them to the various programs and opportunities available at Moberly Area Technical Center.

* Coordinate tours for all area 10th grade students.

* Coordinate individual student explorations into technical programs.

* Coordinate advisory committee to ensure relevant feedback from sending schools concerning policies and procedures.

* Coordinate student placement in technical classes.

* Disseminate to appropriate individuals and agencies, information concerning student enrollment and progress.

* Maintain a career center for student use.

* Prepare, coordinate, and process 180 day follow-up.  Provide this information to appropriate departments and agencies.

* Prepare, coordinate and process the Perkins Accountability report.

* Maintain Student Information Services (SIS) database.

* Maintain student records.  Coordinate student records with staff and administration for utilization.

* Assist the Career Resource Coordinator in an advisory capacity.

* Coordinate placement activities for students including field trips, guest speakers, etc.

* Disseminate employment and post-secondary information.

* Coordinate and process community, parent, and student surveys.

* Be available for informal conferences, as well as planned conferences, with students, faculty, and parents.

* To provide outreach to children/families to access MOHealthNet services.

* To facilitate application to MOHealthNet services.

* Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance that complies with District policies and rules.

* Demonstrate effective and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students, and the community and the ability to work as a productive and solid member of the school district team.

* Must be able to collaborate with peers, possess a positive attitude and be flexible with change.

 

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Serve on building committees as assigned.

* Fill in for Director, as needed.

* Other duties as assigned.  This does not preclude the assignment of additional or supplemental duties.  The District reserves the right to modify the assignment as needed to reflect such duties. 

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

* Duties performed typically in district settings to include the cafeteria, gym, recreational areas and other assigned areas.

* Physical demands can include but are not limited to:  Exerts up to 40 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects including equipment such as audio-visual.

* Frequent walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and other limited physical activities are required.

* Mental demands can include but are not limited to:  Comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, and synthesizing.

* Frequent movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required.
